Martha Zepeda

Martha Zepeda has been a member of the Nguyen Dance Company since August 2006. She graduated from San Francisco State University (SFSU) in May 2006 earning a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with an emphasis in Performance Choreography and a minor in Kinesiology. Martha's dance training includes Advanced Ballet, Advanced Modern, Jazz, Latin, Afro-Haitian, Afro-Brazilian, Dunham, and more. Martha danced with the San Francisco State University Dance Theatre (2005-2006) working with guest choreographer-Paco Gomes, Cathleen McCarthy, and Susie Whipp and participating in ACDFA (2006). Martha also danced at San Francisco Carnival (1999 & 2001). Martha's strength is choreography recently choreographing a full production for Rainbow Theatre for the revival production "Poeta Pan", under director Carlos Baron, Associate Professor of the Theatre Arts Department at SFSU. The production went on tour all over Chile (winter 2007) where she also taught dance Workshops in Latin Dance and Modern. Martha has taught Latin Dance at SFSU and at Mariner Square in Alameda, California, she has also participated in the SFSU Kinesiology Department Youth Outreach program teaching Dance (2007). Martha also choreographs Weddings and Quniceñeras professionally. Currently Martha is choreographing a new Theatre production Still Life an adaptation to The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World - A Tale for Children by Gabriel García Márquez. Martha has danced all over the Bay Area for various events and takes classes at the San Francisco Dance Center, Shawl Anderson, and ODC Dance Center.
