Lane Hiers

Percussionist Lane Hiers uses a unique blend of acoustic and electronic textures to create his own sonic attack. He studied West African music at California Institute of the Arts and holds a BFA with a multimedia emphasis. While at CalArts Lane was involved with all aspects of production, including developing visuals to producing sound loops and writing and performing percussion parts for Dance and Theatre.

Lane has recorded and performed extensively and has been the lead percussion player in various successful ensembles. His current project "Bautista" an eight piece Latin outfit, recently supported Santana on two major tour dates. He is also currently working on material for an upcoming project and album (CHEMISTRY) that will utilize electronics, live percussion, and a host of guest musicians. "I'm always searching for the next emotion" He says "Somewhere between BACH and Blue Man Group, is the sweet spot!"
